As you understand, blogs have become the most popular site platform to build upon–no matter what you want to do with it. If you are already familiar with or have your own blogs, you know just how versatile they are. They are extremely important for business purposes and getting higher ranks within the search engines. For newbie business owners, however, the whole subject of blogging can be quite challenging. If you want to fine tune your business operations, there are lots of things (general and specific) that you need to learn. It’s impossible to cover everything in just one article but it is possible to offer some real and some solid advice about working with a blog theme.
You will gain so much wisdom and value if you can figure out some smart ways to get people more involved on your blog (aka interacting with them). It is important to get them to actually get busy using their mouses and typing on their keyboards. The reason for that is it conditions them and plants seeds in their minds that can compel them to stay longer. This is why it’s important to spend some time figuring out creative yet simple methods for increasing interactions. A few ideas you can use are polls, embedded videos, asking questions at the end of blog posts, etc.
If you want to use your blog to help build your e-mail list, you need to make sure that your opt-in box is in the right spot: at the top of the page on the right hand side. We aren’t kidding, this is the placement that almost always turns out the best response. If you use some kind of fly-in or similar device, then that may work for you, too. You want, however, to be simultaneously using a parallel approach that actually talks about the freebie you want to offer, like an ebook that you can talk about in strategic blog posts. For example, you could write about something that is related to the freebie that you offer for your opt-in. After that, near the end of your post perhaps, you could mention that there is a great opportunity for learning more or mention something relevant and still related.
One of the more challenging things about WordPress themes is figuring out how to customize it into being exactly what you want it to be. For most people this is typically learned through trial and error but it obviously helps to learn coding skills like HTML, PHP and CSS. When you learn these things, however, you can tweak and change your theme so that it is really and truly yours and yours alone. If you feel like that’s even a tiny bit of a good idea then you should jump into it head first. One word of caution: make sure that you make backup copies of any of the files that you want to change or edit. This should prove to you just how much you can do in terms of the presentation of your content. Your content should be formatted in such a way that your readers can’t help but feel intrigued and curious about it. All you have to do then is observe what others are doing to things like their sales letters if you want some inspiration. If you’re serious about building your business then you need to think about the things you are doing and how to do them better. But you want to improve it in a way that achieves something valuable like making your site sticky, etc.
