Carson Senators split with Douglas Tigers

In a riveting last half of the 7th inning the Carson Senators managed to come from a 9 to 4 deficit to beat the Douglas Tigers 10 to 9 in their first of a double header.  Senator center fielder Drew Good hammered a line drive down the left base line to drive in the final two runs needed to win by a one run margin.

However, in game two, a motivated Douglas Tigers team raked up five runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back, eventually beating the Senators in game two 14 to 10.

Throughout the two games, Coach Steve Cook kept rotating pitchers like a merry-go-round trying to “find some consistency”, as he put it, in his pitching stable.

Coach Cook said his team played well in both games, but simply ran out of time to catch Douglas who had run up the score early.  The three games with Douglas this week came out 2 and 1, Douglas.

Next week, Carson plays a three game series with Hug High.  The first game Thursday afternoon at Ron McNutt Field.  Then, on Saturday, a double header at Hug.
