The Downtowner Motel, at Carson and Washington streets, was ordered shut down by the Board of Supervisors this morning. Visitors Bureau officials said owner Ralph Ahmad has been chronically late in paying room taxes already paid by customers. It was reported to the Supervisors that the Downtowner is being sold at auction. City officials say the residents will be relocated soon.
