Decent snow in the Sierra – bumping up the snowpack slightly

Two recent snowmakers have left additional snow in the Sierra, bringing snowwater levels along the Carson River to 107% of normal. its 95% along the Walker, 97% of normal around Lake Tahoe, and 95% along the Truckee River watershed which serves Reno and Sparks. Read the rest of this entry »

The internet strikes again – Hollywood Video closing stores

Rare photos of VC Comstock era and it’s “notable figures” on their way back to Nevada

After determining that their family really had no further use for them, and that they ought to be in the hands of those who care about them, the daughter of renown photographer Ansel Adams has given extremely rare photos of the Comstock era to the Nevada Historical Society. Nevada State Prison itself facing the executioner

After nearly a century and a half of housing some of the West’s most notorious outlaws, the Nevada State Prison is itself being walked to the execution chamber. Sheriff’s race getting crowded

Yet another employee of Sheriff Ken Furlong has decided to run against the boss in June’s primary election.
